Subcision can also be done on the naso-labial folds (laughing lines) to make it less deep. As deepening of laughing lines due to ageing is partly due to loss of collagen. Subcision not only releases the fibrous tissues attachment beneath the lines, it also induces collagen and connective tissue production during the healing process. In these ways, the laughing lines get plump up and appear less deep. Of course, in order to achieve best result, dermal filler is recommended.
