Q: Is poor diet a contributing factor for hair loss?

A: Yes, it is indeed one of the common causes of hair loss. Especially so in a modern society like today’s. High content of sugar and white flour in today’s diet for example processed food provides us with energy but lacking in important vitamins and trace elements.

Vitamin deficiency causes diffuse hair loss in both genders. Hair loss may start to appear as early as age 20. Women above age 50 are the most affected.

Study shows that a specific combination of the amino acid L-Cysteine, Millet (Sorghum) Seed Extract, and Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) can reverse hair loss. Supplements which contain them can bring hair growth back to within normal rates. The first results could be detected as early as 4 weeks when observed under a microscope.

Biotin which is also called vitamin H or vitamin B7, also plays an important role in the health of our hair, skin, and nails. It stimulates hair and nail growth. Biotin can improve overall hair quality, including thickness and shine. Biotin deficiency on the other hand will cause thinning of hair.

Next week we will discuss on the super food for hair growth: MILLET.
See you next week!
