A: Acne marks are formed after inflammatory acne break out. It is a normal response after an inflammation of the skin where hyperpigmentation occurred as a result of abnormal accumulation of pigment over the area.

They are usually either brown or red in colour. Unlike deeper acne scars, acne marks usually, as the name implies, presents with abnormal discolouration of the skin rather than uneven skin surface caused by a scar.

They can be treated with superficial chemical peel, Q switched pigment laser or fractional CO2 laser. Lightening cream, scar cream and plenty of sunblock will help further. 😉
