Q: Should I use moisturizer if I have oily skin?
A: Our skin is constantly exposed to external environmental pollutant which can damage the moisture barrier causing loss of moisture and increase in oil production. That’s why, you do need to use a moisturizer to replenish the water loss if you have oily skin.
Choose an oil-free lotion-based or gel-based moisturizer which contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is intensely moisturizing yet lightweight. Other ingredients that you should look for in an oily skin moisturizer are: mild acid with exfoliating property to unclog pores like salicylic acid or glycolic acid and astringents which help remove excess oil like rose water or witch hazel.
Hope this will assist you in finding a good moisturizer that suits your skin in the new year!
