Q: Face masks are irritating my skin, doc!

A: Wearing face mask has become a new norm to many of us amid this pandemic. However, wearing it for long hours has caused some unwanted side effects to the skin. These include rashes and skin irritation resulting from prolonged rubbing by the mask.

A journal published by the American Academy of Dermatology reports that among frontliners, 70% of them cited dry skin; 56.8% noted tenderness and 52.5% felt itchy skin. 60% noted skin peeling; 49.4% experienced skin redness and 32.9% had pimples.

Here are some skincare tips for you to incorporated into your daily routine.
Tip #1: Wash your face thoroughly before and after wearing a mask
Tip #2: Be sure to moisturize – because our skin can feel dry from cloth covering
Tip #3: Exfoliate 1 to 2 times in a week to clear the dead skin cells away
