A: Some simple description about the healing progress:

Day 1: Skin will appear red. It stings when in contact with water on the first day. Keeping the skin dry is the rule of thumb. Avoid washing your hair too. Just splash your face with tap water (without rubbing or using a cleanser) and quickly dab dry using a piece of tissue paper if you really want to wash it on the first day.

Day 2: On the following day, small fine dots of scabs are formed. The skin reveals a sunburn look. Washing the face is no longer stinging. Remember to apply plenty of the repairing serum that we prescribed until everything has healed. You can apply make up to camouflage from Day 2 onwards.

Day 3: Skin will start to feel tight and rough. Small, fine dust-like scabs starting to fall. They are very fine, sometimes you may not even notice they are actually starting to peel. Continue using our repairing serum. Do not scratch or pick on the scabs to prevent unwanted discolouration. Normally the flaking process is not itchy at all.

Day 4: The peeling process continues. If your skin feels dry, continue with our repairing serum and now you can top up with some moisturizer. You can also start to apply hydrating mask to speed up the peeling process.

Day 5: Younger patients have the advantage of a full recovery by Day 5. Some patients might take 7 to 10 days to recover completely. The new skin will appear smoother and scars lighten.

Hope these answer all your queries.
Happy resurfacing!
