A: A lot of patients seem to be very worried of the downtime. They always like to know whether they need to take time off from work for the laser. So, I would like to take this opportunity to clarify more on these.
Typically, the downtime ranges from 5 days to 1 week. Those who need a mild rejuvenation mode will have a barely visible downtime and flakiness. On the other hand, those who necessitate a higher laser power, for instance, for deep severe acne scars will have a more drastic downtime, e.g. darker and more obvious laser marks on the face and more flakiness.
Most patients tolerate well with the downtime. They do not need time off from work. It is best to plan your treatment on a Friday so that you have the weekend to rest and by Monday you should be good to go again! 😀
